GRYPHON Composite Sticks

APS - the aramide protection system is designed to protect the face and shaft from hits which can damage the carbon fibres.

Zylon System - make the sticks lighter, stronger and more wear resistant than any other stick available on the market today. The Gryphon Zylon System features:

- deflects 5mm at 2.6kN compared to p-Aramid which at 5mm deflection under 1.2kN. This Zylon figure is more than twice the impact energy absorption of p-Aramid composite resulting in vibration reduction.

- a tensile strength of approximately 36 cN/detx which is ten times that of steel, and twice that of regular Carbon and p-Aramid fibres.

- high abrasion resistance and damage tolerance control

- zylon has thermal stability and flame resistance.

- Recommended Stick Weight:

Generally most players prefer to use a medium weight stick. We at Mantis Hockey import primarily medium to light stick models which we feel are the most balanced stick for players in all positions and abilities.

As a general rule of thumb whatever weight feels best when you pick up is the stick for you BUT we offer the following suggestions to simplify your stick purchase:

- if you are looking to hit the ball hard purchase a heavier stick;
- if you more often use the push pass over the hit pass then it is a good idea to buy a light to medium weighted stick;
- if you are a dribbler a medium stick will enable quick stickhandling while giving you enough weight in the head to drag the bag left and right as you eliminate your opponent;
- if you play sweeper and are looking to hit the ball the length of the field look to purchase a heavy stick.
